Samantha Symonds
Printmaker and Art Lover
Samantha Symonds is a resident of Rochester NY and has lived there her whole life. It was not until 2019 that she had fully accepted a passion for art. She jumped headfirst into a BFA with a concentration in printmaking as well as a minor in art history and museum studies at The College at Brockport.
Sam Symonds completed her BFA with a concentration in printmaking as well as a minor in art history and museum studies at The College at Brockport. During her time at brockport she worked as a teacher’s assistant and lab monitor in the printshop. She has a passion for collaborating with others.
Her work strives to capture an emotive quality that can explore the various roots of our human condition. The work is built on self-made images, juxtaposed with found resource imagery to explore the world around her as a physical and mental environment. Using found images allows you to create a historical archive of the mass media that bombards us every day. The subject matter reveals itself as these found images act like pieces of a puzzle, coming together to create a full story.
